Oversee the BGCTX nutrition programs. This includes the planning, preparation, purchasing, and transporting of meals and snacks to designated club sites, as well as insuring compliance with the FP Assistance Program and Capital Area Food Bank requirements.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)

Food Preparation and Storage
• Prepares and packages quality food according to a planned menu of tested, uniform recipes.
• Stores and cares for food items and supplies; maintains a clean and organized storage and work area.
• Serves food according to meal schedules, menu's, policies, procedures and regulated food handling requirements.
• Ensure all supplies and food items are not out of date and safe to use according to labels.
• Follow proper food storage and serving requirements; i.e. keep food at the correct temperature and rotated accordingly.
• Uses equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follows all established procedures to ensure standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.
• Cleans work area (equipment, tables, utensils, sinks, floors, storeroom, dishes, refrigerators and freezers, including sweeping and spot mopping and taking out the trash as needed. These tasks should be performed during and after each meal. Use appropriate chemicals to clean and sanitize all areas where food is prepared, stored or eaten.
• Ensures the dining area is clean. This includes tables, seats, sweeping, spot mopping spills, and trash. These tasks should be performed during and after each meal.
• Maintains garbage collection containers and areas in a neat and sanitary manner.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Planning and Reporting
• Order/purchase budget approved food, supplies, and equipment.
• Control food cost to maintain cost effectiveness of program.
• Order items from CAFB on Wednesday for a Monday pickup
• Coordinate annual health inspection with Bell County Health Dept., to include purchase of health certificate
• Plan weekly menu's and ensure that all sites receive proper paperwork.
• Ensure food and supplies are delivered to all participating sites in a timely manner using company provided transportation.
• Ensure meal production, menu planning, timesheets and other paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
• Work with Unit Director and staff in ensure proper number of meals and snacks are provided and properly reported.
• Maintain up to date inventory list of food and supplies on hand.
• Daily use of CRISP for weekly and monthly reporting
• Maintain all credit card, purchase order, milk order, and CAFB order receipts to ensure all are turned in accurately and in a timely manner.
• Report any equipment deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance and reporting for the FP Assistance Program and Capital Area Food Bank are maintained and insure updates are implemented as needed

• Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment, and supplies are well maintained.
• Assume other duties as assigned by Unit Director.
• During summer operating hours, work with site director to assist with club programming as needed. Plan and implement nutrition classes and cooking classes for club members, as well as assist KISD with summer feeding program.

Internal: Maintain contact with supporting staff, site coordinators and supervisor.
External: Maintain contact with food supply vendors and Food Program Assistance staff.

• A current Food Handler's Card or Food Managers Certification obtained from the Bell County Health District.
• Required FP Assistance Training
• A valid driver's license

• High school diploma or GED
• Mathematical Skills: ability to add and subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals.
• Language Skills: ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and recipes in English.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision

• Standing for extended periods of time
• Exposure to periods of loud or excessive noise
• Exposure to moderate hot/cold temperatures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Use of commercial kitchen equipment to include, but not limited to mixers, sharp cutting tools, microwave, fryers, stove, oven, dishwasher, and food utility carts.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Risk of burns, electrical shock or other injury.
